Facilities

The Chemical Sciences building was built in 2005. This facility has nine new chemistry instructional laboratories, many project laboratories for faculty/student research, and modern classrooms. In addition, significant resources were allocated to update the department's scientific equipment.

A good education in chemistry must of necessity include exposure to a variety of modern chemical instrumentation. The department has acquired a significant amount of equipment and instrumentation over the years, funded by the University, or by external sources via successful grant applications. The instrumentation is used extensively in undergraduate classes, as well as by students and faculty involved in research.
